Roofing questions, answered
Don't see your question? Call us — we're happy to help, even if you're not ready for an estimate.
If my roof leaks, do I need a whole new roof?
Usually not. Unless the roof is at the end of its life, we typically only need to repair the affected area. The roof is then good to go for the rest of its lifespan. We'll tell you honestly which situation you're in.
How long do roofs last in Arizona?
It depends on the material. Asphalt shingles typically last 20–30 years. Tile itself can last 50 years or more, but the underlayment beneath it usually needs attention sooner because of the heat. Other materials can last even longer with regular maintenance.
How can I tell if my roof needs to be replaced?
Watch for:
- Dark patches or bald spots on shingles
- Curling, cracked, or missing shingles or tiles
- Sagging or drooping areas
- Repeated leaks in different spots
If you see any of these, call us for an inspection.
Will insurance cover my roof damage?
It depends on your policy and what caused the damage. Insurance may cover some storm or hail damage, but your insurance company makes that decision. Filing a claim is your choice. After we inspect, we'll give you a repair price so you can decide whether to pay directly or file. If you do file, we can give you a written inspection report with photos to share with your insurer. For coverage questions, talk to your insurance agent.
What's the best type of roof for my home?
It depends on your home and budget. Asphalt shingles offer great value for price and performance. Tile costs more but lasts much longer and suits Arizona's climate and architecture. Flat roofs need a membrane or coating system. We'll walk you through the options during your free estimate.
How long does it take to replace a roof?
An asphalt shingle roof can be installed in as little as a day or two. Tile and larger jobs take longer, up to a week or more depending on size.
How much does a new roof cost?
It depends on the roof's size, the material, and what's underneath. We'll look at your roof and give you a detailed written estimate covering materials and labor. The estimate is free and there's no obligation.
Do you offer financing or discounts?
Yes. Financing is available, and seniors get 5% off. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, checks, and cash.
Are you licensed?
Yes. We're a licensed Arizona contractor, ROC #189480, BBB accredited, and we have no ROC customer complaints.
How does roof pitch affect durability?
Pitch is how steep your roof is. Low-pitch roofs hold water longer, which can wear them out faster, so drainage and installation quality matter more. Steeper roofs shed water better. Some systems, like flat and torch-down roofs, are designed for low pitch; asphalt shingles need a steeper pitch.
What do you do to protect a home right after storm damage?
We shore up the roof so it won't leak: patching holes, securing water-damaged areas, and fastening waterproof tarps if needed. Then we work with you on a plan for the permanent fix.
